Win A Pit Rules:    This year at our Invitational Gator Pits has donated a $4000.00 mobile BBQ pit. The drawing for the pit will be held during the Awards May 10, 2008. There are certain eligibility requirements that must be met in order to participate in this drawing.

The eligibility requirements are:

You mut be a current paid member of TGCBCA. All dues must have been received prior to May 1, 2008 (membership status will be verified prior to receiving a ticket). One free ticket for the drawing will be given to each head cook and/or team member that is cooking at our invitational. Each head judge and/or table monitors working the judging area at the invitational will also be given a free ticket for the drawing. Free tickets will only be given to cooks or workers that have a current paid membership prior to May 1, 2008.

Winner must be present at drawing. Drawing will be held at Awards May 10, 2008. Winner is responsible for the pit once ticket is claimed and verified. Winner will also be responsible for all taxes and licensing of the trailer.

In addition to the free ticket the Board of Directors has decided that any person who receives a free ticket will be eligible to purchase additional tickets for $10 each. These additional tickets will only be available for purchase Friday night May 9, 2008 during check in. These tickets will only be available via Helen Halbison, Ritch Robin, and Craig Sharry at the check in area, during the time specified. All additional ticket sales will be cash only.

Texas Gulf Coast BBQ Cookers Association would like to thank Ritch Robin of Gator Pits for this wonderful donation. If anyone has any questions concerning these rules please contact Craig Sharry and I will be glad to explain them to you. Just remember if you want additional tickets, bring cash and purchase them during check in. We will not be walking around selling tickets. There will be "no" additional ticket sales after the check in period Friday night.

And so there is no confusion. The proceeds from these ticket sales goes to our organization Texas Gulf Coast Cookers Association. In order for us to continue to grow and hopefully offer more prize money in the future it is necessary to raise more money. So rest assured if you purchase additional raffle tickets you are helping "YOUR" organization.

Important Reminder:    The membership dues deadline for Texas Gulf Coast BBQ Cookers Association was extended to May 1, 2008 by the board at our last meeting. Membership renewals received prior to this deadline will allow members to be eligible to cook the TGCBCA Invitational Cookoff.

The deadline to earn Cooker of the Year points was not extended. This means if you did not renew your membership prior to Jan 15, 2008 then you will not be elgible to earn points until after the TGCBCA Invitational. After the TGCBCA Invitational all paid members will be elgible to start receiving points for the 2009 Cooker of the Year.

Remember with any paid membership you will also be elgible to a free subscription to the National BBQ News. Get your renewal form and dues mailed today. Don't delay.

Also if you want to join TGCBCA we would love to have you. New members paid prior to the May 1, 2008 deadline will also be elgible to participate in our TGCBCA Invitational, receive the National BBQ News and after the Invitational start earning points for the Cooker of the Year. So fill out that application and join today.
